Food TV Personality, Food Writer, Cookbook Author & Judge on Iron Chef America
Prior to training at Le Cordon Bleu, California School of Culinary Arts, Candice was strutting runways and gracing the pages of magazines as a model from the young age of 15. Taking a leap of faith, Candice decided to pursue food, captivated by the styling, beauty and aesthetics of fine dining. Candice was soon discovered by casting directors for the inaugural season of Bravo’s Emmy-nominated series, Top Chef. By the young age of 23, Candice had already begun inspiring viewers with her unique take on food and her bubbly personality.
At 24 Candice went on to cook professionally as sous chef to Cynthia Sestito, in the Hamptons and Hollywood Hills. She honed her skills working the line at Japanese-inspired restaurant Roy’s in downtown Los Angeles and cooking for VIPs at the Ritz Carlton, Laguna Beach. Soon thereafter, Candice was back on TV, this time on Home Shopping Network (HSN) cooking and hosting alongside culinary giants Wolfgang Puck and Emeril Lagasse.
It wasn’t long before Candice was cast as the host of Lifetime’s hit series Cook Yourself Thin. She also contributed her health-inspired recipes to the New York Times #1 Bestselling book Cook Yourself Thin, which led to discovering her inner food writer.
In 2009, TLC networks made Candice their go-to cooking maven on the series Home Made Simple. That same year, Candice became a regular contributor on Cooking Channel’s Unique Eats, where she shared her knowledge and love of the global dining scene in Los Angeles and New York City.
Candice is a contributor to several best-selling cookbooks including Cook Yourself Thin and her first solo book, Pretty Delicious., was published in February 2011. The book was met with outstanding reviews, including one critic’s assessment that it is one of the “most stylish and beautiful health-inspired cookbooks” on the market today. She is currently writing her second cookbook, slated for release in Fall 2012.
A television fixture, Candice has been featured on The Today Show, Dr. Oz, The Nate Berkus show, CBS Early show, Access Hollywood, Heidi Klum for AOL, and Extra. She has contributed recipes and expertise to numerous national publications, including People, Glamour, Health, Women’s Health, and Life and Style. She is currently a regular contributor to multiple health and diet magazines. Look out for Candice’s Japanese-inspired recipes in upcoming issues of Fitness, Men’s Health, Clean Eating, and Self. Her cooking credentials also earned Candice a spot a new regular judge on Food Network’s hit series, Iron Chef America. Candice, a former surfer, currently runs marathons and practices yoga and Bar Method daily in New York and Los Angeles.
